body clippering... done properly
Most men have tried to clipper their own body hair at some point. It's awkward, the angles are wrong, the mirror lies, and the result is never quite what you had in mind.
At Massage Gays, body clippering is a tailored session with a professional: prepared, precise, and followed up with real actual aftercare.
You come in, you relax, it gets done right.
The service covers your entire body — or specific areas, your call. We use professional-grade clippers, we prepare the skin before we start, and we look after it when we're done.
The difference between a DIY clipper job and our service is noticeable.
What to expect
Sessions at Massage Gays are clothing-free. That's not a surprise or a disclaimer — it's just the practical reality of doing this work properly. You can't get a clean, even result through fabric, and the aftercare products need to be applied directly to the skin. If it's your first time, that's fine. Most people find it completely unremarkable after the first thirty seconds.
Here's How a Typical Session Runs:
Arrival and Consultation
You enter the treatment room, we have a brief conversation about what areas you want worked on, any sensitivities, your preferred length or finish, and whether there's anything specific you want more or less of. This only takes a couple of minutes and it's worth doing — the result is better when we're working to a plan personalised to you.
Preparation
Before any clipping starts, we prep the skin. A warm towel softens the hair and opens the pores, which means the clipper moves more smoothly and you're less likely to end up with irritation. If you've added an exfoliation scrub, that happens here too — it lifts dead skin and gets the hair standing, which gives a cleaner cut.
The Session
You're lying back on the table throughout. We work systematically through the agreed areas — back, chest, stomach, arms, legs, whatever combination you've booked for. Keep in mind that personal areas are covered separately as a Manscape. The clippers do the heavy work; we take care of the angles and the edges, fading the length from one area to another where possible. If you've asked for clippered areas that abut areas bare of body hair, we will fade or contrast the edges as discussed in our initial consult.
Aftercare
Once the clipping is done, we remove all loose hair with a natural body brush, then apply moisturising lotion or a soothing balm depending on what your skin needs. If you've added an ingrown hair prevention serum, that is applied at this time as well.
Finish
You take a moment, get dressed when you're ready, and leave with skin that's been looked after properly.
The whole thing is easy, breezy, calm and professional.
You will leave feeling not only pampered and relaxed, but also more confident and secure in your body and how it looks.

Why with us, and not at home
You can clipper your own body hair. Most men do, at some point. The question is whether the result is actually what you wanted or were aiming for.
Doing it yourself, you're working blind on most of your body. The angles are all wrong, the mirror only shows you so much and it's backwards, and you end up with patches and lines that don't match up. The hair isn't prepped, so the blades drag. There's no aftercare, so the skin often ends up irritated or dry.
At Massage Gays, we've got professional tools — blades that are properly maintained, multiple guards for different length options, trimmers for detail work. There's a therapist who's working with both hands and a clear line of sight on every area of your body. There's skin preparation that makes the whole process gentler and the result cleaner. And your therapist has aftercare products they apply for you correctly, which is the part most people skip entirely when doing it themselves.
The biggest plus: you are being looked after.
Having someone else handle something like this — carefully, professionally, without judgment — is a different experience from doing it yourself in a hurry. This is all part and parcel of what this service offers.

your therapist
Jei Li'Rann has been working in massage and body grooming for 25 years across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, and the Fraser Coast. He's a qualified massage therapist with a rounded and developed understanding of skin, muscle, and tissue — which brings depth to this service because body grooming isn't just cosmetic. Preparation and aftercare matter for skin health, and the technique matters for the result.

add-ons
The standard clippering session is complete on its own. These add-ons extend or deepen it — they are not required, but each one adds a special feature that also tailors your service specifically to you.
Before We Start
Warm towel prep — a hot towel is applied to the target areas before any clipping begins. It softens the hair shaft, relaxes the skin, and makes the clipper work more smoothly. Less drag, less irritation, a cleaner result. Worth adding if you have sensitive skin or if you want the session to feel more considered. This is part of a Standard Service.
Exfoliation scrub — a body scrub applied to the skin before clipping. It removes dead skin cells and lifts the hair so the clipper can get a cleaner, more even cut. Also preps the skin to absorb aftercare products more effectively. A good option if ingrown hairs have been an issue for you in the past. This is a $10 Upgrade.
During The Session
Guard length options — we work through different guard lengths on different zones to create a graduated, natural-looking result rather than one uniform length across the whole body. Works well for men who want a more sculpted look without going too short. This is part of a Standard Service.
Area focus upgrade — you want us to spend more time on a particular area — chest, back, legs — with more care and precision than a standard pass. This is the option to choose if you have a specific area you're not happy with or that usually gives you trouble. This is a $10 Upgrade.
Precision edge detailing — clean, defined lines and edges on the areas that matter. If you want defined borders on your chest hair, clean lines where body hair meets skin, or sharper edges on any area, this is how you get that. This is a $10 Upgrade.
After We Finish
Moisturising lotion — applied to all clipped areas after the session. Restores hydration to skin that's been stripped of hair and worked over with blades. Leaves the skin feeling soft rather than raw or tight. This is part of a Standard Service.
Soothing balm — for skin that tends to react. A calm-down product applied after clipping to reduce redness and settle any inflammation. Worth adding if your skin is sensitive or if you've had irritation after clipping before. This is part of a Standard Service.
Ingrown hair prevention serum — a targeted product applied to areas prone to ingrowns — chest, intimate zones, legs. Keeps the follicles clear as the hair grows back and reduces the chance of ingrown hairs developing in the days after the session. This is a $10 Upgrade.
