body shaving... done properly
There's a big difference between shaving your body at home and having it done professionally. The tools are better. The technique is better. The preparation is better. And your skin is looked after before, during and after, which is where most DIY shaving falls apart.
At Massage Gays, body shaving is a tailored session with a professional: steam prep, close technique, and real actual aftercare.
You come in, you relax, it gets done right.
The service covers your entire body, or specific areas, your call. Whether you want a clean shave on one area or a full-body result, the finish is closer, smoother and less irritating than what most men manage on their own.
What to expect
Sessions at Massage Gays are clothing-free. That's not a surprise or a disclaimer, it's just the practical reality of doing this work properly. You can't shave through fabric, and the prep and aftercare products need to go directly on the skin. If it's your first time, that's fine. Most people find it completely unremarkable after the first thirty seconds.
Here's How a Typical Session Runs:
Arrival and Consultation
You enter the treatment room and we have a brief conversation about which areas you want shaved, your skin type, any sensitivities, whether shaving has given you irritation before, and the finish you're after. It only takes a couple of minutes and it's worth doing. The result is better when we're working to a plan personalised to you.
Steam Preparation
Before any razor touches your skin, a hot towel goes on the target areas. This is the professional standard: it softens the hair, opens the pores, and makes the shave closer and far more comfortable. It's also the step most people skip at home, and it's the most important one. If you've added pre-shave oil or an exfoliation scrub, they happen here too.
The Shave
You're lying back on the table throughout. We work systematically through the agreed areas: back, chest, stomach, arms, legs, whatever combination you've booked for. Keep in mind that personal areas are covered separately as a Manscape. We use professional-grade blades and a methodical technique, working with the direction of growth first, then closer passes where your skin can take it.
Aftercare
Once the shave is done, we rinse away any remaining product, then apply a soothing balm to settle the skin and a moisturising lotion to restore hydration. If you've added an ingrown hair prevention serum, that is applied at this time as well.
Finish
You take a moment, get dressed when you're ready, and leave with skin that's been prepared, shaved and cared for.
The whole thing is easy, breezy, calm and professional.
You will leave feeling not only pampered and relaxed, but also more confident and secure in your body and how it looks.

Why with us, and not at home
You can shave your own body hair. Most men do, at some point. The question is whether the result is actually what you wanted, and how your skin feels the next day.
Doing it yourself, most of your body is hard to reach at the right angle, and the mirror only shows you so much, backwards. A supermarket razor isn't made for body use. There's no prep beyond maybe a shower, and rarely any proper aftercare. The result is often patchy, irritated, or both.
At Massage Gays, the steam prep alone changes the experience. Properly softened hair needs far less pressure, which means a closer result with less skin trauma. The blades are fresh and made for the job. There's a therapist working with both hands and a clear line of sight on every area of your body, including your back. And your therapist applies the aftercare for you, correctly, which is where razor burn, ingrown hairs and dry skin are usually won or lost.
The biggest plus: you are being looked after.
Having someone else handle something like this, carefully, professionally, without judgment, is a different experience from doing it yourself in a hurry with a bag of disposables. This is all part and parcel of what this service offers.

your therapist

Preparation and aftercare matter for skin health, and the technique matters for the result.

add-ons
The standard shaving session is complete on its own. These add-ons extend or deepen it — they are not required, but each one adds a special feature that also tailors your service specifically to you.
Before We Start
Hot towel steam — a hot towel is applied to the target areas before any shaving begins. It softens the hair, opens the pores and relaxes the skin, and it changes the quality of everything that follows. Especially good for coarse hair or sensitive skin. This is part of a Standard Service.
Pre-shave oil — applied over the steamed skin before the blade touches it. It creates a fine protective layer so the razor glides rather than drags. Less irritation, and a closer pass. This is a $10 Upgrade.
Exfoliation scrub — a body scrub applied before the shave. It removes dead skin cells and lifts the hair, which reduces blade drag and helps prevent ingrowns afterwards. A good option if ingrown hairs have been an issue for you in the past. This is a $10 Upgrade.
During The Session
Sensitive skin approach — product, blade technique and pressure all adjusted for skin that tends to flare up. The one to choose if shaving has given you redness or irritation before. This is a $10 Upgrade.
Multi-pass precision — extra careful passes over the target areas for the closest possible result. It takes a little longer, but the finish is smoother and lasts noticeably longer between sessions. This is a $10 Upgrade.
Precision edge detailing — clean, defined lines and edges on the areas that matter. If you want defined borders on your chest, clean lines where body hair meets skin, or sharper edges on any area, this is how you get that. This is a $10 Upgrade.
After We Finish
Soothing balm — applied straight after the shave to settle the skin and reduce redness. Particularly important after a close or multi-pass shave. This is part of a Standard Service.
Moisturising lotion — applied to all shaved areas. Restores hydration to freshly shaved skin and keeps it soft rather than tight or dry. This is part of a Standard Service.
Ingrown hair prevention serum — a targeted product applied to areas prone to ingrowns, such as the chest and legs. Keeps the follicles clear as the hair grows back and reduces the chance of ingrowns in the days after your session. This is a $10 Upgrade.
